BACHELOR OF ARTS IN POLITICAL SCIENCE
The Bachelor of Arts in Political Science (BAPS) program offered by the Social Science Department, College of Arts and Sciences at West Visayas State University, Iloilo City is the FIRST AND ONLY Political Science Undergraduate Degree Program to attain the LEVEL IV Re-Accredited Status among the among state universities and colleges in the Philippines, recognized by the Accrediting Agency for Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP).
It also enjoys the prestige of being the FIRST Political Science Undergraduate Degree Program to attain the said level among Private and State Colleges and Universities in Western Visayas Region.
Program Description
The Bachelor of Arts in Political Science Program provides the students with a liberal education in the discipline and prepares them for a career in the academe, law or service in the government and other sectors.
Program Objectives
1. To provide the students an in-depth understanding of the various fields of Political Science, endow them with the competencies necessary to assess and respond to various political concerns and problems;
2. To equip the students with competencies in Political Science in preparation for a career in the academe, law or service in the government and other sectors;
3. To cultivate among the students a deep sense of community involvement and commitment through research and extension services; and
4. To produce young professionals with a high degree of competence in the discipline necessary for them to contribute to institutional, national and international growth and development.
